In 512 B.C.（the 30th year of Zhaogong，Duke of the state of Lu），Confucius was in the state of Lu.He called himself"a man who was clear-minded at the age of 40".（the Analects·Weizheng）.To be clear-minded refers to the established outlook on life and the world of a man of accomplishment.
