On October 8th, China's first mural art museum, Jinzhiyuan Mural Art Museum, opened in Jinzhong, Shanxiprovince.

The museum displays the exhibition on the origin and development of ancient Chinese murals, covering theexisting ancient murals both in Shanxi and acrossthe country. The exhibitionis divided into seven periods according to chronological order, and covers various forms such as highly simulated replicas, imitations, and physical demonstrations. The collection showcases the origin and development of ancient Chinese murals. In addition, the museum has developed various forms of mural cultural activities and creative products, creating a rich mural cultural experience for the public.

In addition to display, the museum also has the functions of restoring and protecting cultural relics and researching mural culture. The museum offers research courses on mural and painted sculpture copying, inheritance and mounting techniques, mural cultural movie appreciationlectures, as well as a cultural relic restoration center. In addition, there isthe "Shanxi Cultural Heritage Resource Big Data Center" featuring the database of Shanxi murals, painted sculptures, and ancient architectural resources.
