On October 24, the China-ItalyWorld Cultural Heritage Sites CooperationForumunder the instruction oftheNationalCultural Heritage Administrationand the Italian Ministry of Culture, was held at the world cultural heritage site, West Lake ,in Hangzhou.

During the forum, representatives of cultural relics departmentsand experts of China and Italy held dialogues on the concepts and experienceof world cultural heritage protection, and representatives of the protection institutions of world cultural heritage sites in Hangzhou and Verona exchanged views on the protection, inheritance and utilization of world cultural heritage.

China and Italy are outstanding representatives of eastern and western civilizations respectively, and both are among the best in the number of world heritage sites worldwide. From 1983, when the Chinese cultural relics exhibition made its debut in Italy, to 2023, when the China-ItalyWorld Cultural Heritage Sites CooperationForumwas held in Hangzhou, thebilateral exchange and cooperation in this field hasgone through 40 years.
