On September 20, the "Seeking Dunhuang - Digital Immersion Exhibition" was unveiled.This groundbreaking cultural knowledge interactive project, housed within the Digital Dunhuang Resource Database, revolves around Mogao Cave No. 285. It provides users with online knowledge explanations and offers interactive VR experiences, both online and offline.

In order to offer visitors a more enriching, vivid, and profound understanding of the exhibition, the "Seeking Dunhuang" project draws upon a century of Dunhuang studies and the accumulated wisdom of "Digital Dunhuang." It harnesses state-of-the-art gaming technologies, including 3D modeling, physically based rendering in game engines, global dynamic lighting, and VR virtual reality scenes. This meticulous approach achieves a high-precision 1:1 three-dimensional recreation of Cave No. 285, featuring over a billion high-fidelity digital models and ultra-high-resolution surface colors. Visitors can intimately appreciate the murals, freely explore cave details in 360 degrees, and even "ascend" to the cave's ceiling to immerse themselves in mural scenerios, providinga one-of-a-kind "lighting up" experience not found in reality.
