On October 9th, the Information Office of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government held a press conference to introduce the preparations for the 9th Silk Road International Art Festival. It is reported that the 9th Silk Road International Art Festival will be held in Xi'an from October 15th to 29th.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of "the Belt and Road" initiative, this festival has attracted artists from more than 90 countries and regions, as well as 9 provinces (districts, municipalities) in China. In addition to the centralized appearance of several award-winning plays, 14 high-quality plays and comprehensive programs from 17 countries, including Russia, Britain, France, Germany, will be shown offline and online.

In order to enable foreign artists to understand Shaanxi and experience Chinese culture, the art festival has included the "Silk Road Starting Point Cultural and Tourism Experience" special event as part of the Silk Road International Art Festival for the first time. During the art festival, six special events will also be held, including Malaysia Culture Day, Children's Drama Week, Intangible Cultural Heritage Collection, Youth Artist Support Program, and International Modern Art Week.
