On October 18, the conference commemorating the 893rd anniversary of the birth of Zhu Xi (1130-1200), chief expounder of Neo-Confucianism, also known as Zhu Zi or Master Zhu, was held in Wufu Town, Mount Wuyi City, Nanping, Fujian Province, the “hometown of Zhu Zi”, which brought together nearly 600 experts, scholars, descendants ofZhu Ziand students representatives from all over the countryto pay their tribute toZhu Zias well as inherit and promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

At the same time, the opening ceremony of Ji Cheng Hall of Mount WuyiZhu Zi Culture Park, the launch ceremony of theTour to Explore Zhu Zi Culture, Yuelu-Wuyi Academic Discussion, the gathering of folk customs in Xingxian Ancient Street and other activities were held successively.

Zhu Zi played a pivotal role in inheriting the past and blazing the new trailin Chinese history, as he inherited and developed Chinese culture. For a long time, with regard to the development of Zhu Zi culture, the Northern Fujian has dedicated to its brand building, the formulation and promulgation of a series of policies for its protection, inheritance and construction as well as the promotion of its integrated development with tourism.
