On October 15, the Chinese Embassy in the United States held a "Chinese Peking Opera" cultural Salon in the Public Foreign Relations Center of the Embassy. Nearly 100 guests from all walks of life in China and the United States participated in the salon to experience the artistic charm of Peking Opera performances up close and immersive ly.

At the event, the makeup process of the role of "Noble Princess" and various costumes and props in Peking Opera were displayed, and the history and cultural connotation of Peking Opera were introduced to the audience. At the salon, the actors also showed the audience the roles of Dan(female), Sheng(male),Wu Sheng(male with Kungfu)and Qingyi(young lady)in Peking Opera and the basic skills of singing, reading, acting and playing through excerpts from the operas An Empty City Plan, Havocin Heavenand Drunken Concubine.

Under the instructionsof the staff,somemembers of the audience also went on stage to experience the Peking Opera performance.
