From October 21 to 22, the first international academic forum on ancient writingand Chinese civilization, hostedby Tsinghua University and organizedby Tsinghua University Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts and the Secretariat of the Project for the Inheritance and Development of Ancient Writing and Chinese Civilization, was held atTsinghua University.

The forum has set up four sub venues: “State and Society in Early China”, “Monographic Study on Bamboo Slips Preserved by Tsinghua University”, “Research on the Writing of Shang and Chou Dynasty”, “Research on the Writing of Warring States, Qin and Han Dynasties”. Focusing on the above topics，over a hundred scholars conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions during the two-day forum. Meanwhile, to demonstrate the significance of ancient writing in carrying forward and inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture as well as propelling the exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese civilization and world civilization, an exhibition highlighting the effectiveness and academic achievements to date ofthe major national cultural project for the inheritance and development of ancient writing and Chinese Civilization were exhibited at the hall of the main building.

The opening ceremony of the forum was livestreamed globally, garnering a total of nearly 450000 views.
