On October20, the launch ceremony of the 16th "Chinese Bridge" International Chinese Language Competition for Middle School Students was held in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan province. A total of 110 secondaryschool students from 93 countries came to China to participate in the competition.

At the ceremony, the teenagers from all over the world watched the Bai nationality song and dance Happy Song on the Silk Roadtogether. In the enthusiastic interpretation of the Bai nationality, they felt the charmof unique Chinese minority customs.

This year marks the eighth time that the "Chinese Bridge" has joined hands with Yunnan. Taking the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" , the competition takes "feeling China and understanding Yunnan" as the common thread, aims to increase the love of middle school students in various countries for the Chinese language, Chinese culture and China, topromote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and to deepen mutual learning of civilizations.

It is reported that this event involvesmultiple rounds of qualificationcompetitions.In the Dali section of the schedule, the competitorswill complete three "bridge pointscompetitions", and then go to Kunming for the "continental Championship". At the end of October, the five continental champions will compete together in the finals for the global championship.
